West Coast Wolves

The Wolves are Cape Town based surfers with strong connections to the ocean and the kreef gods of South Africa’s diabolical west coast. They have been building a buzz in South Africa since they started touring with their upbeat and original sound.

The Wolves are known for drawing inspiration from West Coast camping trips, sleeping in their surfboard bags nourished by icy surf, frosted quarts and acoustic instruments. Music, surfing and camping seem to go hand in hand. Starting from an acoustic base with a djembe, the Wolves incorporate a diffusion of sounds from different genres into the songs they create. This gives the Wolves an edge, as they can perform stripped down acoustic shows in intimate venues, with the upbeat energy of the full band better suited to bigger shows & festival performances. The Wolves are happy to explore Crosby Stills and Nash harmonies, mixed with punk, reggae, rock n’ roll and more recently banjo-driven bluegrass after Pete picked up a 5 string banjo.
